The closest 4,000m+ mountains to Thunder Bay

From me to we; Chris and I are travelling together once again. We decided to take a road trip while we had some free time and picked our destination, the American mid-west, because of the impressive peaks located there only 1,700 km away from Thunder Bay (as opposed to 2,100 km to the Canadian Rockies). We explored the Badlands and Black Hills of South Dakota, Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and a tone of secondary highways and scenic bypasses. In total we spent two weeks driving over a distance of 4,500 km, hiking and camping along the way.
