I decided to make the most out of the fact that my work contract was ending shortly and that my brother, Garrin, currently lives in France when I booked myself a flight to Europe. Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on how you look at it), Chris had to stay in Thunder Bay for work while I went off to travel on my own for a month and a half.
From Thunder Bay, Canada I headed straight to Garrin’s place in Saint-Genis Pouilly a mere 6,684 km away which translated into a 10 hour flight and 5 1/2 hour train ride. I planned to spend a lot of time the Jura Mountains and Geneva (each located about 40 minutes away from his place) and take advantage of cheap trains and flights to explore a little more of Europe over the course of the next six weeks.
